Seattle Continental Championship Qualifier

The above are the fifteen competitors who took place in the Continental Championship qualifying tournament in Seattle on March 31st, 2001. As you can see, their high levels of obfuscate and obtenebration made getting a good picture impossible. (As did having a new camera with a person who knew nothing about pictures taking the picture.)

The above 5 are the finalists, from left to right:
Vincent, Ethan, Chris, Jeff, Jason.

The two items above, a box of Sabbat War boosters and a pewter edge, were the prizes for the victor. The top 10 players also received a shirt that says Vampire The Eternal Struggle 2001 Continental Qualifier (not pictured).

The results of the first Continental Qualifying Championship are in, and
the Lasombra have walked away with their first victory.

There was quite a bit of stealth bleed at this tournament. I believe I saw
four different Lasombra decks other than mine, one Malkavian Antitribu
Kindred Spirits stealth bleed deck, one traditional Malkavian stealth bleed,
a presence stealth bleed deck with Arika, a Toreador Antitribu bleed deck
using Jost Werner for stealth, and a bounce deck using Muaziz to stealth bleed.

Stuart Pieloch, formerly of the famed Atlanta group, was eight
tournament points out of the finals with four victory points. Stu gained
two victory points in each of the first two rounds by allowing his predator
to stealth bleed his prey out of the game with well timed Deflections and
Telepathic Misdirections.

Ethan Schwager of Seattle played a traditional Malkavian
stealth bleed deck. He was my prey in the finals and played an Anarch Revolt at
the beginning of his first turn in the finals. He was the last (ie third) person
to die at the Anarchs' hands.

Chris Coon of Seattle played some sort of stealth bleed
with bounce deck. He was the first to die to an Anarch in the finals (my grandprey).

Jason Dawson, VEKN Prince of Seattle, played a deck of whose compenents I only
got to see Arika, Igo the Hungry, some stealth, and a Hostile Takeover. Jason was
my grandpredator in the finals, and the last person ousted, but not to an Anarch.

Vincent Price of Seattle played a Lasombra stealth bleed deck, and was my predator
in the finals. He also played an Anarch Revolt at the beginning of his first turn in
the finals, and he died paying for an Anarch.

The following seven people qualified to play at the North American Continental
Championship by performing well at this event:
Jeffrey Thompson
Ethan Schwager
Jason Dawson
Chris Coon
Vincent Price
Stuart Pieloch
Kory Gannon
