VEKN Nagaraja Newsletter
April 2002

Hi folks !

Change your mind. You won't ever "bleed" your prey. It's over. You must now
consider V:Tes another way.

You're reading this newsletter, the first Nagaraja newsletter. And you must
admit things are going to change, because to play a Nagaraja deck means you
won't ever "bleed" your prey. No.

But it's cool !

Now, you're going to "eat" your prey !

Welcome to this first newsletter. It is the first of three issues (unless
White-wolf increases this bloodline background in its next set) devoted to
the Nagaraja bloodline and to the understanding of the best way to mix them
with other decks.

OK. There are only 3 Nagaraja and no specific card. At first glance they
seem to be Tremere-like with Necromancy instead of Thaumaturgy, but they are
in fact far more cool !

What is so good with Nagarajas ?

1.. Their clan name. Na-ga-ra-ja. That sounds ! That sounds at least
better than "Ventrue antitribu" for example.
2.. Playing a Nagaraja deck allows you to build decks with cards that no
one plays and to mix them to create wonderful effects (see the deck of the
month)
3.. On a bleed action, just say "eat" instead of "bleed" and look at your
prey's face. Definitely worth of it !
4.. Man, no one plays Nagaraja.
5.. Playing with Nagaraja allows you to contribute to the VampireŠ
background. The rpg put indeed the Nagaraja just in one extension (the dirty
secrets of the Black Hand), and left our flesh-eaters alone in the
Netherworld, without background, with no one to talk and play save the
wraiths. Now, each of us has to adopt a Nagaraja and show him the world, and
a lot of praxis by the way.

The deck of this newsletter features a bruise'n eat'n stealth concept,
introducing a real star : Kanimana Belghazi - Ta-tsan!!!-

She's got AUS, DOM, NEC and pro.

The deck will use DOM, PRO, aus, and a lot of Nec to add fun and bloat to
this toolbox.

The main purpose of this deck is to eat your prey's head by constantly
bleeding and maiming his/her minions.

Dominate is devoted to the bleed action and to the deflection (kind of bleed
action isn't it ?). Fot the wonderful psychological effect of the
head-eating, keep in hand your precious Thoughts betrayed until you've got a
vampire full enough to play it.

Protean is mainly here to have the deck work : you're blocked when
attempting an action (say. bleed ?), and you don't have a vampire strong
enough, or no offensive combat card in hand. Play manoeuvers, counterpress,
combat ends.

You've got a powerful offensive hand : be blocked, torporize the opposing
minion (prevent your ass from burning with flesh of marble).

You must oust your prey this turn : bleed with stealth.

Auspex works well with some vampires and can deflect in addition to the
dominate cards.

Necromancy is the Kanimana stuff (as for some lucky vampire you'll "equip").
Soul stealing is a card I've never played before, perhaps because most
players play clan-decks, and that it is hard with Giovanni to burn a
vampire. Anyway, it allows you to restore your minion and to bloat
eventually (it's a toolbox deck. If you've got the cards, yippee. Otherwise,
it will have other effects on the game).

The best thing with this deck that can happen is : combat, close, I say you
"close", come on man, aggravated strike, amaranth, soul stealing.

With such a crypt, you'll get enough votes on the table to negociate with
other voters to prevent bloodhunt. In addition to that, !Gangrel may use
this combo with Gangrel conspiracy.

Assuming you don't have got the votes in play to prevent destruction, who
cares ? Now, everybody fears your harshest combo. Keep on deflecting and
bleeding.

I've used this deck for 4 metagames (lot of intercept and minion burning) :
4 table sweep, and lot of fun watching my preys' face as I announce "eat" as
an action !

Next month, we'll talk a lot about a wonderful combo with Kanimana named
"Kanimana doesn't care of Semsith's menace". See what I mean ? (thanks to
Dave "I'm your father, Luke" Hammond for the tip).
