At the beginning of 2007, I was asked to start a "What's New" page by one of the newer players in Chile. This page will document changes both to this website, plans for the game as a whole, and new websites and utilities created by other players.

Changes that took place in 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, and 2007.

This is the page for 2011.

VAMPIRE: ELDER KINDRED NETWORK® ANNOUNCES NEW RULES DIRECTOR

Official V:TES Players' Organization Selects New Rules Director

Paris, France – July 6, 2011 – Vampire: Elder Kindred Network has selected Pascal Bertrand as its new Rules Director. Pascal began playing Vampire: The Eternal Struggle eight years ago with the Paris playgroup and some of its legendary players. Most recently, Pascal has been serving the player community through his role as the National Coordinator for France, answering rules questions on a regional level, and by judging large tournaments including the 172-player Last Chance Qualifier at the 2010 European Championship. You can find Pascal on the www.vekn.net website where his rulings will be the one and only official source for V:TES rulings.

Pascal succeeds the venerable L. Scott Johnson who first began his V:TES service by collecting official rulings made on mailing lists and Usenet. Scott went on to become the game's official rules guru for Wizards of the Coast® and then added Game Designer to his credits when White Wolf selected him to design 19 expansion sets beginning with 2001's Sabbat War. These days, Scott can be found frequenting the Boardgamegeek.com website including its V:TES forums.

Vampire: The Eternal Struggle News

Friday, May 13, 2011

VTES Players,

We wanted to take a moment to give you an update on the future of Vampire: The Eternal Struggle. White Wolf will continue to host North American support for VTES for the rest of 2011 (although European event support will be provided by VTES.de).

However, starting May 20th, 2011, VTES will no longer be sold through standard distribution channels. Instead, you will be able to purchase displays at the White Wolf Store in North America and VTES.de in Europe.

As part of this change in distribution, pricing for displays will be decreased on 5/20. Booster displays will be sold for $50USD/€50, and starter displays will be sold for $35USD/€35. North American sales do not include sales tax, while European sales do include VAT.

Further, European customers can purchase a package of five booster displays for €225, and ten booster displays for €400. These packages can be a mix and match of displays.

If you have any questions, you can contact VTES Support at vtessupport@white-wolf.com.

VAMPIRE: ELDER KINDRED NETWORK® ANNOUNCES LOCATION FOR 2011 EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

European National Coordinators Select Poland as Host Country for
Vampire: The Eternal Struggle European Championship

WARSAW, POLAND - December 7th, 2010 – In a close vote, European
National Coordinators have selected Poland to host the 2011 European
Championship. Scheduled for November 11-13, 2011, the Polish event
team will be hosting the affair at the Gromada Airport Hotel in
Warsaw. Radoslaw "Szewski" Staszewski, Poland's National
Coordinator, expects the event to draw 150 players who will compete in
multiple tournaments as well as attend a welcoming party and
experience Warsaw's sightseeing.

Poland's successful bid for the 2011 European Championship comes on
the heels of a highly successful 2010 event in Paris, France. The
2011 event also has a special significance in that it is the first
European Championship to be selected by the V:EKN after CCP's
announcement that it will cease publication of the game. Vampire:
Elder Kindred Network's selection and support of the 2011 event shows
the organization's commitment to providing ongoing support for
organized play in CCP's absence.
