This last Saturday, the 26th of April 2003, there was a standard constructed event with 2 rounds and a final held in Charleston, South Carolina. Fourteen players were in attendance, eight of them travelling 2 hours or more to attend. Atlanta - 3 players Columbia - 1 player Durham - 2 players Raleigh - 1 player Charlotte - 1 player Locals - 6 players Going into the finals, we had the following top 5: Nate (Durham) - Euro Brujah dominate bleed 2nd tradition untap 2 GW, 8 vp (?) Jeff Thompson (Atlanta) - Lasombra governing 2 GW, 6.5 vp Jeff Brandon (Charleston) - Toreador Antitribu gunning intercept ? GW, ? vp Tom (Charleston) - Salubri play Renewed Vigor on Inner Circle 0 GW, 3 vp Scott (Columbia) - Giovanni and necromantic guests 0 GW, ? vp Seating in the final rounds was: Tom going first. Jeff T playing second. Scott playing third. Nate playing fourth. Jeff B playing fifth. Tom and Jeff T started out the game very slowly, bringing out 11 and 10 caps as their first vampires. Meanwhile, Scott's Giovanni played some Burning Wrath to cause Nate's Donal O'Connor to go down hard. Jeff B's Toreador Antitribu equipped with .44 Magnums, bleed with Palla Grande, and did a lot of intercepting. Eventually, the table was weakened enough in the Giovanni/Brujah/Toreador Antitribu section that the Lasombra deck was able to bleed out all three decks. There was enough time left in the round, that the Salubri Inner Circle deck was able to bring up 5 different Inner Circle Members and use them to bleed once the Toreador Antitribu were out of the game. Tom took out Jeff T with 5 minutes remaining. Fortunately for Jeff T, he already had 3 victory points and the tournament win. Look for more info on the Charlotte by Night website, as Jordan took notes on everyone's names and what they were playing. http://www.CharlotteByNight.com Deck Name: Lasombra Governing Created By: The Lasombra Description: This deck won the War Party: Charleston, South Carolina tournament on April 26th, 2003. There were 14 players, two rounds and a final. This deck took game wins all three rounds. The deck was designed to get out a larger Lasombra with superior dominate, who would then use Govern the Unaligned and Scouting Mission to bring out the other vampires in the crypt. I always got at least one vampire for free this way. This deck was the Lasombra Commons deck that I won a tournament in Los Angeles with a few years ago, but that got bumped up to 89 cards where the original was 73 cards. There was also supposed to be a hunting ground in the deck, but I forgot to add it in. In the Charleston event, I took 4vp, 2.5 vp, and then 3 vp in the finals.
