Variable Resource VTES format by Daneel I was thinking of a variable resource allocation VTES format. I was thinking about analysing the given variables and limitations for the game in order to come up with a somewhat balanced yet most uncommon format. The variables and limitations in the game (5-player table): Library 60-90 cards. Crypt minimum 12 cards. Uncontrolled Region 4 random crypt cards. 30 starting pool. Hand size 7 cards. 1 MPA, 1 DPA, 4 transfers each turn. My initial formula used no distinguished Resource Point, it used the Pool as an interchangeable. It said: 60 starting pool, and a 0 Library size. Everything else stays. Each pool spent on buying library cards increases the max. library size by 3 cards. I now think that the "good" formula should be less restricted, and should probably only afect the initial game state (e.g. only the first 4 items). Also, having more cards is a definite bonus for some decks, but others can easily be build to run on less. The RP is still the starting Pool. Default library size: 60 + increasing the library limit costs 1 pool for 10 cards, 2 pool for 20 cards and 3 pool for 30 cards. ++ increasing beyond 90 cards costs 1 pool per 5 cards. - decreasing the limit costs 1 pool per 10 cards. No library below 30 cards. Default crypt minimum: 12 - lowering this minimum costs 1 pool per card. Default uncontrolled region crypt cards: 4 + increasing this amount costs 3 pool per card. - lowering it yields 2 pool per card foregone. Default starting pool: 33 Comments?
