Got time to while away between rounds? Got only one other person? Why not try this simple 2 player game. It doesn't actually use VTES rules (much..), it just uses a handful of VTES cards. Undead Trump. by salem. 7th August 2003 A 2-player game. Setup: Grab your crypt from any of your V:TES decks. Shuffle, and randomly cut it down to 12 cards if it has more. At the start of the game, randomly choose 1 person to be the 'active player'. The Turn: Each player draws the top card of their crypt and looks at it without showing the other player. The active player then chooses one of the following: a)Any discipline in V:TES. b)Capacity. c)+bleed d)+strength e)Referendum Both players then reveal their cards. The winner (see below) collects both cards and puts them in random order facedown on the bottom of their crypt. The loser then becomes the 'active player', and starts a new turn. Winning/Losing a turn: a)Discipline The vampire with the highest level of the discipline is the winner (values: 0 = don't have it, 1 = have it at inferior, 2 = have it at superior. Ian Forestal has level 2 in dom, aus, tha, and 0 in everything else (he doesn't actually have any other disciplines)). b)Capacity The vampire with the highest capacity is the winner. c)+bleed The vampire with the greatest +bleed is the winner. Bonuses/penalties that depend on the bleed target having a specific clan (or whatever) check the other vampire's clan (or whatever). d)+strength The vampire with the greatest +strength is the winner. Bonuses/penalties that depend on the opposing vampire's clan (or whatever) check the other vampire's clan (or whatever). e)Referendum The vampire who can cast the most votes is the winner. eg: If both vampires are prisci, it's a draw. If one is a priscus and one is a prince, the priscus wins. If one is a priscus and the other is Gratiano the Uber Priscus, Gratiano wins. Anastazdi loses to other justicars. Drawing: If there is a draw, place both vampires in the middle. They are won or lost by the results of the next turn. If there are successive draws, the middle pile just gets bigger until someone wins. If both players run out of crypt because every vampire is in the middle, the overall game result is a draw. Overall game results: One player wins when he has all the other player's vampires. He then gives the other player their vampires back. Advanced rules: You could add additional choice categories like Intercept or Stealth, or anything else that is seen on at least a few vampires. salem domain:canberra http://www.geocities.com/salem_christ.geo/vtes.htm
