Praxis Seizure: Atlanta 2005 - Results When: December 10th, 2005 - Saturday Started at 12:45 pm due to travelers' delays Where: http://www.atlantagamefactory.com/ Atlanta Game Factory, Inc. 551 10th Street Atlanta, GA 30318 404-745-4213 What: Standard Constructed Tournament 2 rounds + final Why: Framed original art of Praxis Seizure: Atlanta (Camarilla Edition was given to the winner of the event). Who: 14 players 3 players from Nashville, Tennessee 2 players from Columbia, South Carolina 1 player from Charleston, South Carolina 1 player from Lafayette, Louisiana 7 players from Atlanta, Georgia What else: Two rounds of Duffin Draft were completed while the spectators waited for / watched the finals. This appeared to be very much enjoyed. A booster was provided to each non-finalist before the finals started to get this set up. An Undue Influence option was also tested. (Transfer all you want on your first turn for the most even playing field possible.) Two tables of five and a table of four happened in each of the first two rounds. Four of the finalists had game wins going in, the fifth player had three victory points but no game win. Standing after the first two rounds: Tzimisce 1GW, 4.5 VP Tremere 1GW, ? VP Ravnos 1GW, ? VP Malkavian Antitribu 1GW, 2VP Settites 0GW, 3 VP Seating for the final round: Dr. Cat Pashley (Settites with Temptations) Danielle Newquist (Ravnos (Etienne) with Edged Illusions) L. Scott Johnson (Tremere (Carna) with Bowl of Convergence) Jeffrey Thompson (Tzimisce Vote) James 'Grim' Nult (Korah/Dolphin Black Kindred Spirits bleed) This final was a game of multiple diableries, with Lambach, Carna the Princess Witch, Etienne Fauberge, and Dolphin Black meeting their final death while in torpor. Dolphin Black was actually done in by Gregory Winter. The Tremere were sufficiently threatened by the Ravnos that they allowed the Tzimisce to call most of their votes, with terms very favorable to the Tremere. The fourth point in the KRC votes always going to the Tzimisce. The Bribes also made a significant difference in ensuring that the Tremere stayed in the game and healthy poolwise. James was able to out bleed Cat, with three and four point bleeds not being uncommon. He dried up fairly quickly after that, when his Dreams of the Sphinx ran out. He still successfully bled for a few, but never for multiple bleeds in the same turn. Gregory Winter came out as the Tzimisce's first action, and he kept the pressure up on James' Blood Doll (Korah) throughout the game. The Tzimisce called a Consanguineous Boon to give the Settites 3 pool (and themselves and the Tremere one with Bribes), but they were unable to delay the oust by even a single turn. The Ravnos spent a few turns Edged Illusioning backwards, and a deal was made when Carna went to torpor to have Petru Sipos gain the Bowl of Convergence. This proved extremely costly to the Tremere, as every action in the game was at stealth, or was a combat trap. Sometimes both. Revelations made a huge difference in the game, with both the Malkavian antitribu and the Tremere controlling a copy in play. This worked out in the end for the Tzimisce, as they had 3 Wakes and 2 Telepathic Misdirections in hand, which tempered the Tremere's bleed actions significantly. Meshenka was a victim of Seeds of Corruption, but none of the combat cards cost blood, so the lack of access to his special was not a hindrance. Stravinsky's two bleed make huge inroads into the Malkavian antitribu's pool stash, and using their Anarch Troublemaker against them ensured the MA's doom. Time was running out, when Stravinsky's two bleeds helped to catch the Ravnos who had been devasted by the Malkavian antitribu and the loss of Etienne Fauberge. Lucas Halton successfully bled the Tzimisce for 5, with Govern the Unaligned, Command of the Beast, and Bonding on one of the few turns they were without bleed bounce. Anastasz di Zagreb was the receipient of Retribution when he successfully bled for three. Unfortunately, this only emptied him, it did not send him to torpor.
