Joe's Pizza Party Tournament Columbia, South Carolina October 30, 2004 3 R + F 8 players Joe Churchill of www.warghoul.com fame hosted an eight player tournament at his apartment on Saturday, the 30th of October 2004. Four local players plus four players from Atlanta played three rounds and a final to determine the winner of 2 V:TM books (Giovanni and Widow's Walk), the Beckett graphic novella, and a print of the original Effective Management art. Finalists: Robyn Tatu (3GW / 9VP) Maris Streck + Princes/Justicars with Animalism and Obfuscate Simeon Nagel (2GW / 7VP) Malkavian Antitribu bleed and bleed and bleed Jeffrey Thompson (1GW / 5VP) Lasombra weenie potence rush David Tatu (0GW / 1VP) Sabbat presence bleed vote featuring Sela and Alfred Benezri and their advanced counterparts Matt? from Columbia (0GW / 1VP) Tremere antitribu and Muaziz, with Burst of Sunlight Each of the finalists swept 1 game, and both finalists with 2 or more game wins took a second game by getting 3 VP at their 4 player table. Robyn's third game win was 2-1-1, which is where Jeff's extra VP and David's VP occurred. Other decks present: Malkavian dementation bleed, Kiasyd bleed / intercept, and Followers of Set corrupt / bleed. Final seating: Simeon playing first bleeding Matt bleeding Jeff bleeding David bleeding Robyn, who preyed on Simeon. The final went quickly, with Simeon bleeding quickly and frequently right out of the gate. Matt's Govern and Scouting bleeds were deflected into David, and Matt was unable to cycle to the intercept or rush that would save him from Simeon. Matt and Jeff never interacted in combat. After Matt was ousted, Jeff ousted David with a combination of Fame and Govern the Unaligned. Jeff then had to focus completely backward until Dragonbound was able to assist Robyn's bleeds in ousting Simeon. Jeff then Famed Maris Streck, and with a few more successful rushes and a Conditioning, Jeff removed Robyn as well. Tournament Winning Deck by Jeffrey Thompson Deck Name: School of Bakija Created By: The Lasombra Description: Inspired by years of tutelage at the internet knee of Peter Bakija, I took this deck to a tournament in Columbia, South Carolina and won the only 2 games that mattered. One a sweep of a four player table to put the deck in the finals, and the second the finals itself where it took 3 of 5 victory points. Careful consideration of how much your should crush your prey, and use of multi-dunk Fame-Torporize / Rescue / Torporize with The Path of Lilith and Dragonbound ensure the days results. Use the Govern the Unaligned's to bring more minion's into play to ensure beatings unless all of your prey's vampires capable of bouncing a bleed are in torpor. The plan for the day was to use the Succcubus Club to force the prey into paying me pool to not enter combat with their vampires, at which time I would bleed. It never came into play early enough to matter. I never offered or accepted a deal with the Succubus Club. Stunt Cycle trumped the .44 Magnums that were present on the day.
