V:EKN Clan Newsletter: Tzimisce
SEPTEMBER 1999 Volume 1, Issue 5

And when we fell together, all our flesh was like a veil
That I had to draw aside to see the serpent eat its tail.
Some women wait for Jesus, and some women wait for Cain,
So I hang upon my altar, and I hoist my axe again.
And I take the one who finds me back to where it all began,
when Jesus was the honeymoon, and Cain was just a man.
And we read from pleasant Bibles that are bound in blood and skin,
That the wilderness is gathering all its children back again.
Leonard Cohen, "Last Year's Man"

I. FICTION: Crusade Columbia (Part I)

SEPTEMBER 23 1999
As I awoke with evening's freshness a package was waiting for me. I
noticed the telltale signs of the Tzimisce Cardinal, Lambach. A rush of
adrenaline coursed through my veins, as I knew my orders waited within
the box. Intrigue set in as I opened the box to find various articles
of clothing, some interesting jewelry, and a letter with Lambach's wax
seal.
Good Morning Justicar,
Don't be so shocked at the thought, you will become one soon...
Your ability to hide your thoughts from prying vampires is renowned,
as you successfully infiltrated the Camarilla in the past and were a
vital part of the Crusade in Mexico City. This time we intend to use
your skills once more in deceiving the foolish Brujah Prince of
Columbia in so gaining control of Columbia and all of South Carolina.
If you manage to accomplish the goals set forth in this agenda, your
ascendance to Priscus will be imminent.
The Brujah Justicar Don Cruez, while on a trip to Romania earlier
this year fell into our trap and was captured. Since then, we have
continued to mold him into a better fiend, all the while keeping in
close contact with the conclave. His next move is to Columbia, you will
be there in his place. The poor Prince has an audience willing to
support him as he tries to fend off the Sabbat advances into Columbia.
Gwendolyn has decided it's time for some clout to show up and help put
and end to this uprising, she has called on Don Cruez.
Included in this care package are three pints of this old Justicar's
blood, carefully extracted over the pass few months. Also, you will
find all the accessories necessary to pull off the disguise. Your
aptitude in vicissitude is known throughout the circles of the Sabbat
and you will have no trouble crafting yourself into this new shape.
You will help the poor Prince drive out the Sabbat in three battles
over the next month, the last being the attack on the Elysium of the
city. The victory will be celebrated at the annual Halloween ball being
hosted by the local toreadors. This is when we will wipe the Camarilla
of Columbia, South Carolina into extinction.
SALVE,
LAMBACH
It would take me but a few days to tie up my business affairs here in
Milwaukee and to change my self into the Don Cruez. As I finished up my
last ear, a sense of pleasure and power flowed within. I was now in a
place of respect and distrust, it felt good to have authority. Catching
the 8 PM flight to Columbia, I arrived a little past midnight local
time. At the airport I was rushed into a limo and was on my way
Prince's abode and the royal ruse was on.

II. DECK OF THE MONTH: Playing With Your Food
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Description:
This month creation is less about brutality and more about bleeding and
plastic surgery.
When blocked, combat is more fun than your typical bruiser style. It's
not about blood loss to the opposing minion, it's about giving the
vampire a new look, via Bonecraft and Fleshcraft. I've also included a
few Thoughts Betrayed for those pesky SC:E folks who refuse to sit in
the chair.
