V:EKN Clan Toreador Antitribu Newsletter, December 1999

12/4/99 Editors Corner - Ethan Burrow, Prince of Austin

I decided to make this month's newsletter short, since I was gone up
until Wednesday this week in Boston. I managed to hook up with The
Quivering Messiah and his New England brethren while I was up there.
Playing against new people and new decks are a lot of fun. I have
another gratuitous page of images and some random thoughts at
http://whitestar.ddg.com/vtes/boston.html

I'm starting to run out of Toreador-Antitribu vampires and clan specific
cards to talk about, so if I miss a month don't be surprised.

Card of the Month -

   Depravity

One of several ways to increase Hand Damage for combat celerity decks.
While it does cost a pool, it is permanent and cannot be removed. You
also have the added bonus of of +1 stealth when attempting diablrie.
Since our clan is one of the few that are good at voting, you might be
able to utilize this ability if you control the votes on the table with
the high capacity vampires.

Sadly, this card as a couple of drawbacks. It's unique, so you can't
place it on every minion, and if you use if often people may start
playing with it as well to induce contesting. Also, that minion cannot
recruit the Goth Band or any of the useful retainers. But in a combat
deck, that is a small price to pay.

That Majestic Psyche!

Use the Blood Hunts/War Parties to always be able to attack vampires.
Get into combat with them, use the Majesty to untap, restart combat
with the Psyche! and when you have finished Blurring and Tasting their
Vitae, take any other action you want.

Not quite as good as a Fortitude multiple action deck, but surprisingly
effective against combat ends decks and most decks that favor combat,
but
don't use Immortal Grapple.

I will probably take out the War Parties and add more 2nd Traditions and
Fifth Traditions and get rid of all the Brujah and double up on
Francois.

This deck and others can be reached at The Lasombra's Deck Archive at
