Hello. Despite tradition and the risk, I am here to tell you of my kindred. Many of
you know us. None of you KNOW us. I have found that even when confronted with
the horrid truth you gaje choose not to believe it and hide from it. You choose to
believe we are fantasy. You like to believe your nights are safe. So, let me add to
your tells of fantasy. This is my story. I will tell it and you may choose to discard it if
you like.
I am the first Georgio. I am a fifth generation georgio. I was born on the 7th of
June 481. Ah, I see you have already decided to put my tale in the fantasy column.
Oh well no matter. I was born in a small town in France. The name doesn’t matter
it no longer exists. My father was gypsy tried and true. He loved his kumpania. Yet,
one day he found a gajo so beautiful that he chose to take her as his wife. The Baro
would not allow her to join the kumpania. I was never told why.
After I was born, and became of age, I traveled with my father as an entertainer. Mother
sometimes accompanied us. You could say that by the time I reached 21 my father,
mother, 3 brothers and 2 sisters were our own kumpania. We were performing in one
town or another, again the name doesn’t matter it no longer exists, the night of my tumnimos.
It was a child of Sarrath that attacked us that night. He savaged everyone. Ripping and
tearing my mother into pieces. He ate my father. I tried to fight and he picked me up and
threw me through a window. I landed outside with a fence post drove through my right shoulder.
Why he chose me I do not know nor do I care. Then he came upon me in my helpless state.
My entire family was slaughtered. “This is your kris. I will be the Krisatora. What is the
true path of a gypsy?” he asked. “To live ones life free and to do as one chooses.”
I answered. With a smile that exposed his fangs he nodded. Only then did I realize that
my time was not done. My tumnimos was exquisite. I had never felt such ecstasy. I drank
freely when he offered his blood. “You are now a fifth generation childe of Kaen.” Was the
last thing he said as he strolled away. I removed myself from my impalement and looked
for someplace to rest and heal.
Yes, I eventually found the lupine that was responsible for my families death. Yes, he
paid for what he had done to them. But, that was nearly a 1000 years later. After all,
Children of Sarrath are not to be trifled with. As I was slaying him I learned that it was
my sire that had set the whole thing up. He had chosen me months before. He had
convinced this poor lupine that he could have fun slaying my family and all he wanted
was I. I shall tell you this now as I learned it then; I am not fond of lupine blood. Faerie
blood is far better. I searched another 250 years for my sire. In this time I grew more
and more powerful. I knew that I would face him again and only one of us would survive.
And, I tell you this to contradict what all of you seem to think we all believe, I fully enjoy
my immortality.
By this time I had mastered and learned quite a few disciplines. Had I been one of the
Camarilla I would have probably been in the Inner Circle. But I choose to live as I choose,
not as some over inflated ego driven Prince thinks I should live. I was a master of: Animalism,
Chimestry, Fortitude, and Protean. I had learned a little: Celerity, Obtenebration, and Obfuscate.
I will save the story of my sire for the next tale. I have given a lexicon below for those of you
that know not the Ravnos language.
Baro (BAH-roo) – Literally, “big man.” The leader of a Ravnos or Gypsy kumpania.
Gajo (GAH-zhoh) – Literally, “peasant.” Any non-gypsy, mortal or Kindred.
Gaje (GAH-zhay) – Plural of gajo.
Georgio (JOOR-jee-oh) – A Ravnos of non-gypsy stock; a gajo Ravnos. Kaen (KAIN) –
The Romani spelling of Caine, the first vampire.
Kris (KREASE) – A gypsy trial.
Krisatora (KREASE-ah-tor-ah) –Those who preside over a kris.
Kumpania (koom-pah-NEE-ah) – A band of gypsies or Ravnos.
Children of Sarrath – The tribe of Lupines known as the Silent Striders. Tumnimos
(tum-NEE-nos) – The vampire Embrace.

Deck Name: Those Bloody Ravnos

Description: My first attempt at building a deck from scratch. I wanted to make it simple.
I also wanted to be able to cause a little chaos on the table. I think I managed both. It
was basically designed around the S&B approach. Not an easy thing to do when you
don’t have any stealth disciplines. With the right cards you can generate +3 stealth.
Generally you always have a way of getting +1 stealth. As you need some time to get
moving Millicent usually slows down a table. This deck has been played about 8 times and
has lasted for most of the games. I have only won with it once and that was in a 4 player s
elf played game.
