To Be Continued ___________________ I. Introduction ------------------- Hello, and welcome to issue 2 of 2 for September. In this Newsletter, we will find out more about the mysterious abductors of Waldo in the VTES Fiction section. In VTES Stuff, I have an example Malkavian Storyline deck made for Lambach's Legion. There's also a short muse about the Lambach's Legion tournament at the end of the Newsletter. Please enjoy this issue of the V:EKN Malkavian Newsletter. Remember, post your replies to this newsgroup thread or send me an email. -t!MmY Editor in chief and Mad Inker at large _______________________ II. Fiction (or is it?) ----------------------- "The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round. The wheels on the bus go…" "Waldo, please stop that racket!" Brian shouted. After Waldo was silent again, Brian looked out the rear window of the speeding car. The Hieronymus Bosch-esque scene seemed to have been left far behind. Only the wailing sirens in the distance were any indication that something had happened earlier in the evening. Brian turned to the front of the car again. "I demand to know who you are and where you're taking us." "I'd wager you're smart enough to already know the answer to those questions." The driver commented. He was pale with jet black hair, long of face, and wore sunglasses even while driving at night. His gaze remained fixed straight ahead. "Well, you're definitely not on our side," Todd sniffed, "the Camarilla have better manners than this." "And you're not Sabbat, or you wouldn't have helped us escape from the Demon Rats." "Ah, so you know about those things? You're pretty well-informed, for a Malkavian." "I'm a Nosferatu not a Kook! Of course I know about the Demon Rats." The two men in the front exchanged looks and the one on the right smiled. "You guys can't be with one of the Independents; you just don't fit their stereotypes." Todd said. "Take the Giovanni, for instance, I swear they're all clones." Panic over-took Brian's visage and he looked quickly to the sides as if thinking about jumping from the speeding car. "See, I told you that you knew who we are, Brian." The driver said, still looking straight ahead. "What is it, Brian?" Todd asked. "Anarchs!" Brian shouted. Waldo burst out: "The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round…" _________________ III. V:TES Stuff ----------------- The Lambach's Legion Storyline Tournaments are practically over, and I didn't get a chance to attend one. But, for the enjoyment of the audience, I will give you the Featured Deck as one of the Malkavian decks I would have played, had I the opportunity! Feel free to pick it apart and let me know what you think. -------------------- Featured Deck: Name: "t!MmY's Lambach's Legion Storyline Tournament Deck That He Didn't Get To Play" or, "Saturday Night Special Delivery" Created by: Timmy Merrill Date Created: August 13th Description: Malkavians bleeding, but with a dash of insanity. Crypt: Gilbert Duane Marial Lady Thunder x2 Ozmo Didi Meyers Zebulon Roland Bishop Aleph Zoe Dollface Watenda Normal ----------------- Library: 60 Cards [Masters: 12] Auspex Blood Doll x2 Dominate KRCG News Radio Station Minion Tap x2 Misdirection x2 Obfuscate Rotschreck x2 [Actions: 17] Govern the Unaligned x4 Ivory Bow Revalations x4 Saturday Night Special x6 Scouting Missions x4 [Reactions: 8] Telepathic Misdirection x4 Wake with Evening's Freshness x4 [Action Modifiers: 9] Bonding x4 Swallowed by the Night x4 [Combat: 12] Disguised Weapon x6 Dragon's Breath Rounds x6 How to Play this Deck: This is an easy one, just bleed as often as you can afford. You should only really bother with Stealth if it will get you an oust, otherwise, let ‘em block you. The idea is to pull out a Disguised Saturday Night Special and hit them for 3R Aggravated Damage. Simple and to-the-point. _______________ IV. Et Cetera --------------- The storyline results for Lambach's Legion have shown a very close race among the Giovanni, Ventrue, and Malkavian. I have seen no official results, but rest assured at least one of these Clans will come out victorious. And what of Lambach? Things aren't looking very good for him as his faction of fledgling vampires show up near the bottom of the victory list. A funny thing about this tournament I've noticed: When Malkavians had a strong, clear lead early on, there were many voices lamenting the fact. Complaints about boring "Malk Sneak & Bleed" decks ran rampant. Then, when the Giovanni started gaining ground, there was much rejoicing. So, the funny thing is that these winning Giovanni decks are almost all exclusively "Giovanni Power Bleed" decks (might as well call them Sneak & Bleed), while a good many of the winning Malkavian decks have been rather zany and humorous. Of course there might have been a few "Shambling Hoards Giovanni Decks" that have won, as well as the inevitable Malk S&B, but the facts remain: Malkavians are not, by default, boring. It's all up to the player to decide what his/her deck will be. You can make a "boring" Giovanni deck just as easily as you can a Malkavian, Gangrel, Ventrue, Blood Brothers deck… etc. "Boring" isn't automatically attached to a Clan. ______________________ V. To Be Continued... ---------------------- Thank you for reading this month's Newsletter. Hopefully we'll see an official result of the winning Clan for Lambach's Legion soon and I'll make mention of it in October's Newsletter.
