The Stone Circle September 2004
I. Introduction
Welcome to the 6th newsletter that records the developement of the
tricksiest bloodline of them all, the Gargoyles. This month we will be
taking a trip through the looking glass to see what is going on.
II. Fiction
To: Muaziz
From: Etrius
Subject: Apprehension of Virstania
My dearest Archon,
Please do us both a favor and destroy the anathema Virstania. It would be a
laurel we could lay together on your former Justicar Ulugh Beg once he
returns from the long night. I look forward to hearing of your success in
this matter. Should something befall her before she makes it back to
Vienna, I shall not shed a crocodile's tear. Good Hunting!
III. Card of the Month
Flow Within the Mountain
Visceratika/Thaumaturgy
1 blood
[tha]: Press. [vis]: Strike: combat ends. [VIS]: Strike: combat ends. If
this vampire was blocked while performing an action, the action continues as
if unblocked.
This is an excellent card. It provides a Strike:Combat Ends at inferior and
at superior it acts as a sans-stealth Form of Mist. This is one of the
unexpected tricks in the combat-heavy Gargoyle Arsenal. It is a subtle card
that is often forgotten in the wake of such powerhouses such as Razor Bat
and Defender of the Haven but no less effective in its own right. Also
don't forget that outferior press to get us into or out of positions of our
choosing.
IV. Vampire of the Month
Virstania, The Great Mother
7 cap
AUS dom pre THA vic
Tremere
group 3
Camarilla: If Virstania is ready, any ready slave Gargoyle may remove his or
her slave status and become an independent vampire as a +1 stealth action,
and non-slave Gargoyles can bleed at +1 bleed as a (D) action that costs a
blood.
Ugly Chick, Hot Card! Granted she looks like a French Quarter hooker that
was put in burlap sack and thrown off the top of the ugly tree, but
Virstania is an awesome vampire. She removes one of the critical weakness of
the gargoyle bloodline in three ways. She is a Tremere so Tremere slaves can
take D actions while she is in play. Her first special allows slave
Gargoyles to remove their slave status and therefore eliminate a weakness of
most gargoyle decks namely soft and crunchy wizard vampires that tell the
slaves what to do. Her second special is a monster. It effectively gives
every independent gargoyle a built in computer hack, which is monstrously
effective.
