[Newsletter] Stone Circle April 04

I. Introduction
Welcome to the 5th newsletter describing the Gargoyles who are by far the
most intricate of all the bloodlines in that they actively must be mixed
with another clan to achieve their full potential

II. Fiction

To: Virstania
From: Etrius
Subject: Opportunities arising from construct 007i

Virstania, let me make it clear that your dismal and abject failure to
apprehend Ferox and to put an end to this Gargoyle revolt foolishness has
seriously compromised the inner circle's confindence in you to control your
creations. The fact that a brainless homunculus has outwitted you time and
time again has not indicated to the council that construct 007i is
intelligent and crafty, but rather that you are lazy and incompetent
Furthermore, should you fail to apprehend aforementioned criminal within the
next 30 nights, not only will your privileges of using Fortschritt's
facilities to produce your pathetic freakshow be revoked, but also you will
be put on trial before the whole clan as an accomplice and co-conspirator to
all of Ferox's crimes.

III. Card of the Month

Defender of the Haven
Tremere/ Tremere Antitribu
1 Blood
+1 stealth action. Put this card on a slave Gargoyle with a capacity above
4. The Gargoyle with this card gets +2 intercept when attempting to block
(D) actions. A Gargoyle can have only one Defender of the Haven.

Now I hear people moan and groan about "Tzimice" wall decks, and it makes me
giggle. Sure the Tzimice are a force in there own right, but nothing says
to me "Wall" like a minion with a permanent +2 intercept. Throw on a razor
bat and now you are catching inferior Night Moves.

Defender of the Haven is the Penultimate in "Perma-cept". It turns Forced
Awakenings into Second Tradions. Also due to Gargoyles inherent resilience
(read Fortitude) we have nothing to fear from Kiss of Ra which is the bane
of every wall deck. So when you think "Wall" think "Gargoyles"

IV. Vampire of the Month

Ferox, The Rock Lord
7 Cap Gargoyle
ani FOR POT VIS
Independent: Ferox can enter combat with a Nosferatu controlled by another
Methuselah as a (D) action. Younger vampires must burn 1 blood to attempt to
block Ferox. Ferox cannot commit diablerie. Flight.

Ferox is a great gargoyle although he differs in many ways from the
mainstream gargoyles in that he is not a slave. So he can be used
independently from the other gargoyles and their slave clans. He mixed
great in a For/Pot deck, and strangely enough his out of clan ani makes him
a great add on to a Nossie Princes deck, who can use Patagia to gain flight
themselves.

V. Deck of the Month

This month I am going to print one of my pet decks. This deck has been in
development for quite a few years and has weathered many a stormy table
(read 3 stealth bleeders) to take the table win. It is a wall deck and make
no doubt about it, it is going to get the last two vp's on just about any
table. The key is whether you can get that elusive 3rd V.P. to ensure the
game win.

So with much ado I present to you...
