BUREAUCRACY OF BRUTALITY

From the Brujah Clanbook: "Brujah elders usually have great influence
within the clan. This is not because younger members particularly respect
them for their wisdom and long lives. Rather, it is because everyone
knows that they have incredible power and will use it ruthlessly against
anyone who opposes them."
In the World of Darkness, elder Brujah must attempt to preside over
Rants in which 95% of attendess disagree with them out of general
principles, 3% agree with them and want to fight somebody over it, 1% will
frenzy for no apparent reason, pissing off the other 99%, and the
remaining 1% won't cause trouble (most likely because they're too drunk).
Needless to say, this sort of thing isn't easy. For this reason, elder
Brujah don't rely on being respected for their age -- they get respect
because when they don't, other Kindred get hurt. Badly.
That, in a nutshell, is what this month's deck is all about:
Brujah Princes hurting other Kindred badly.
This deck was created by Torbjorn Graslund, of Stockholm, Sweden, and
sent to me via email in early June. Torbjorn tells it better than I
could, so here it is in his own words...

*	*	*

The deck is built around the two Brujah Princes Donal o'Connor and
Constanza Vinti.

"Princes on Steroids"
4	Donal O'connor CEL POT DOM, prince
4	Constanza Vinti CEL POT DOM, prince

	Dre cel pot
	Jacob bragg cel pot

Master --13--
4	Blood dolls
3	Minion Tap
2	Elysium the Arboretum
	Elder Library
	The Rack
	Slave Auction
	Dreams of the Sphinx

Minion --77--
7	Bum's Rush
4	Ambush
12	Torn Signpost
12 Immortal Grapple
8	Blur
5	Pursuit
9	Taste of Vitae
6	Flash
5	Govern the Unaligned
2	Conditioning
7	2nd Tradition

This deck uses the standard Brujah hand-combat engine Rush/TS/IG/Blur/Taste
for 9 damage and an occasional heavy bleed. The crypt will not allow
more than two or three vampires to be brought into play. However, the princes
will be able to take multiple actions each turn (unless faced with deep stealth
opponents) by rushing in your turn and blocking in your preys/predators turn
through 2nd tradition.

I have noticed that combat decks often have trouble with pool management (at
least my decks). This is why almost all the master cards gives blood. GtU
is also a very valuable card in this respect as it functions as either a
heavy bleed or gives 3 pool. It is also possible to water the combat angle
down a bit, add 5 more Minion Tap and 6 5th traditions, to get into some
serious pool gain.

This deck is built with the meta game in Stockholm in mind that includes a
lot of light intercept/light stealth, 5 to 7 people a table, and heavy combat.

Other cards that could be considered in this deck design is:

-Side Slip/Guardian Angel (Do I see a lot of aggravated damage?)
-KRCG/Rumor Mill/Guardian Angel etc. (Do I face a lot of deep stealth?)
-Remove some Pursuit/Flash (Do I need all those manuevers?)

To make it more fun to play these cards could also be considered:

-Anathema (Can I pass votes with my one or two princes?)
-Grave Robbing (Always fun)
-Decapitate (Why let them go to torpor when they can BURN!)

THE REVISED DECK COLUMN

I didn't receive any feedback on last month's deck, Smiling Jack Pays A
Visit, and I haven't had enough spare time to playtest it. I'll post
commentary on Torbjorn's deck here next month.

OTHER STUFF

Thanks again to Torbjorn for sending me his deck. :-)
See you all in a month (or so).
