Brujah Antitribu Newsletter
Issue #3
August 1, 1998
---------------------------

Well, it's been a month and a half since the last newsletter... and of
course we've have two whirlwinds worth of errata come through the door
since then. So, what's new from the !Brujah point of view?

1. Pulled Fangs. Although I personally never really owned enough of
these to make a big difference, potence combat decks routinely used this
card to burn vampires left and right. While the change the card means
this card won't be used as often, we do have other resources: Disarm and
Decapitate.

2. Immortal Grapple. Our fears about the IG change crippling potence
combat were allayed at Origins, where combat decks did fairly well. If
you're worried about your IG running out when you get to the next round,
I would say put in more. My deck at Origins had 13, and although
sometimes the new ruling hurt, it was mainly against the Ventrue, as
predicted.

3. Taste of Vitae. The ruling making Taste non-cumulative suprised me,
if only because I had been playing it that way for years, and I thought
that _was_ the ruling.

4. Burning Wrath. Is this card worth playing now? Here's a combat:
Torn Signpost, no maneuvers, IG, Burning Wrath. You've spent 3 blood
for a strike for 5 aggravated (as opposed to no blood and 5 normal with
an Undead Strength). I am considering putting a couple in my deck to
burn pesky big guys. But it's a little harder to burn with the new/old
aggro rules, and Decapitate might be just as good. Thoughts, anyone?

5. Fame. There's been a lot of talk about the Fame-Rush deck.
I certainly don't think it's overpowered, and I wonder if it's even
worthwhile... there's really no point in the rescue and re-rush angle
without including more cards like Catacombs or Humanitas. And the more
non-combat cards in your Rush deck, the worse the rush deck.
Personally, I'd rather have a Blood Doll.

7. Wake. For a while I had Wakes in my Rush decks, but then I realized
that I just didn't ever want to have them. For those of you playing
with Wakes in your decks, even _without_ the errata, wouldn't you rather
have another Bum's Rush?

That's about it for the list of changed cards. Not too much is
different except for the Immortal Grapples. But they're not too hard to
get your hands on (I picked up 5 at Origins for a few bucks, and I think
Mark Korshavn has them for $.50), so just get some more.

OK, here's the current incarnation of my ubiquitous !Bru Rush deck.
Acutally, as I look at the crypt, I realize that only 5 of the 13
vampires are !Brujah. The shame... Maybe I should start calling this
the "potence" newsletter.

"I'm going to kill-kill-kill you-you-you"

Crypt:
   Koko 2 pot
   Mitchell, the Headhunter 2 pot
2x Jacob Bragg 3 pot cel
Dre -- Leader of the Cold Dawn 3 pot cel
   Hugo 4 POT
2x Jimmy Dunn 4 POT CEL
Gaspare Giovanni 6 POT cel +1 hand damage
Sela 6 POT cel +1 bleed, Bishop
2x Beast, Leatherface of Detroit 7 POT cel +1 HD, rush action
Richter, the Templar of DuMont 7 POT CEL +1 hand damage

Since hardly anyone here has superior Celerity, I took out all of the
cards (like Sideslip and Pursuit) which had a useful superior but sucky
inferior. And I have discovered that Gaspare kicks ass.

Masters:
4 Blood Doll
4 Haven Uncovered
Dreams of the Sphinx
The Barrens
2 Potence
The Hungry Coyote
Depravity
------
2 Ambush
10 Bum's Rush
8 Taste of Vitae
8 Flash
4 Acrobatics
4 Blur
4 Decapitate
8 Torn Signpost
4 Fists of Death
13 Immortal Grapple
9 Undead Strength
2 Pushing the Limit

...and there it is. The only change I would make if I could would be to
put in Disarms, but alas, I don't own any.
