Some of these are variants of previously featured decks, while others are new to the NL. It is interesting that that all six of the decks are group 2, but where is the Muricia love? I do think that group 4 needs another Ahrimane to fill out the ranks, as group 4 is a vampire down but I can't see that happening in the near future. --[1.2 -Next Issue]------------------------------------ I will be looking at Outferiors, those often overlooked little extra gems. Editor's notes. This is similar to above, but with a greater spread of actions. This is more the sort of deck I would play, but everyone has his or her own requirements so take little notice of that. Something that I noticed is that both of these decks have Mr. Winthrop in, which makes sense, as he is a free intercept retainer compared with Raven Spy. He does need to be recruited rather than Pack Alpha'ed which is a little more trouble, but he will then contest with anyone else playing him, thus reducing other players intercept. I used Socials over Legals because of the intense blood costs of Squirrel Balance and the retainers. It won a table the previous evening and (from what Matt Wedge tells me) could have actually taken that final table, but admittedly I had already finished a fifth of vodka and don't remember the final at all. Robert Editor's notes. Ah, a deck played under the influence of alcohol. Nothing beats a relaxed game of Vtes with beer - although alcohol is bad, ok kids? This is more of a bruise bleed deck than the toolboxes of above, so if you like acting rather than reacting try this one. A few new cards have been added over the years but overall it looks much the same as it always has. It has performed consistently well for me over the years, including at large tournaments and qualifiers. Furthermore, it is consistently FUN to play with, something I consider essential (the reason I never play certain deck archetypes -- they bore me to tears). Definitely my favourite deck and the only one that never gets decompiled to make room for other stuff. WES Editor's Notes Well can't say very much about this deck as it is tried and tested. Certainly has a wide range of options, which as Wes says makes for a fun deck. I will have to see how it plays - I think this deck is preying on me in the current JOL tournament. Last year I went with the Mexican Blood Sisters, which gained me some kudos, but no victory points.
