Harry K Smith (hks1@Ra.MsState.Edu) posted these to the newsgroup, rec.games.trading-cards.jyhad prior to the release of Final Nights. Wraith Spy Cardtype: Retainer Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Necromancy Retainer with 1 life. Wraith Spy is immune to damage that is not aggravated. Minion with this retainer has +1 intercept when blocking. (S) As above, but this retainer costs 1 less blood to employ. Similar to the Raven Spy. Is the "Immune to non-agg damage" clause too much? It goes with the past history for wraiths, but perhaps the blood cost should be raised to compensate? ----------- ----------- Poltergeist Cardtype: Retainer Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Necromancy Retainer with 1 life. Poltergiest is immune to damage that is not aggravated. When the minion with this retainer is in combat, the opposing minion takes 1R damage during strike resolution. (S) As above, but this retainer costs 1 less blood to employ. A wraith version of the popular Wolf Companion concept. Seems well balanced to me, good enough that you'd want to use it, but not over powered. ----------- ----------- Guardian Spirit Cardtype: Retainer Cost: 2 blood Discipline: Necromancy Retainer with 1 life. Guardian Spirit is immune to damage that is not aggravated. Minions blocking or blocked by the minion with this retainer cannot use equipment in combat. (S) As above, but this retainer costs 1 less blood to employ. A non-clan version of Spiritual Protector with a more realistic cost. Or is it too open to abuse now? ----------- ----------- Summon the Spirits Cardtype: Action Discipline: Necromancy +1 stealth action. Go through your library and equip this menion with the first retainer (from the top) that requires Necromancy. Pay the cost to equip as normal. Reshuffle afterwards. (S) As above, but you may choose any retainer that requires Necromancy. Sort of a Magic of the Smith for retainers. Looks like fun. ----------- ----------- Spirit's Aid Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Necromancy Maneuver. (S) Press. Gives the Giovanni some much-need combat support. ----------- ----------- Bind the Shackled Soul Cardtype: Action Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Necromancy This card is an action card that becomes a retainer. +1 stealth action. Burn a retainer controlled by your predator or prey. This retainer is removed from the game. Put this card on the acting vampire, it is now represents a retainer with 1 life. This retainer is immune to damage that is not aggravated. Once each combat, the minion with this retainer can change a point of aggravated damage to normal damage. (S) As above, but you may burn an ally instead. Sort of a cross between Far Mastery and Death Pact. What the retainer actually does is open to debate, I thought about making it like one of the above Nec. retainers, but decided just to go with the Death Pact functionality. I decided to have the retainer/ally removed from the game so that you couldn't turn around and use the next card on it. ----------- ----------- Bind the Departed Soul Cardtype: Action Cost: 1 blood Discipline: Necromancy +1 stealth action. Take a retainer from any Methuselah's ash heap and place it on this acting minion, do not pay the cost to employ. Put 3 Pathos counters on the retainer. Remove a Pathos counter from the retainer at the beginning of each of your minion phases. When there are no Pathos counters remaining, remove the retainer from the game. (S) As above, but you may choose an ally. Bring the ally into your active region, do not pay the cost to employ. This gives Amrosius' special ability to everyone with Necromancy, and it lets you get retainers/allies from other people's ash heaps. However, I'm worried this might be a little too good. Perhaps it should be restricted to retainers/allies that have been burned since your last turn, much like Compel the Spirit? ----------- ----------- That's all my ideas for Necromancy. Below, I've got some ideas for some interesting equipment.... Broad Sword Cardtype: Equipment Cost: 2 pool Melee Weapon. Strength+2 damage each strike, only usable once per round. I like swords. There should be more variety than just the ol' Bastard Sword. This is sort of like a Sawed-Off Shotgun, only with the advantage that you can pump the damage up with other cards more easily. I thought about making it only cost 1 pool, but then it pretty much makes the Chainsaws wallpaper. ----------- ----------- Rapier Cardtype: Equipment Cost: 1 pool Melee Weapon. Strength damage each strike. The minion with this equipment may make an additional strike with this weapon once each round. A Sword of Judgement for everyone, only you can only use the additional strike to strike with the weapon. Comments? ----------- ----------- Get-Away Car Cardtype: Equipment Vehicle. When an acting minion that you control (other than the menion with this vehicle) is blocked and about to enter combat, this menion may end that combat before range is chosen. This effect may only be used once per turn. There have been no new vehicles created since the original set! I think they're really missing out on some interesting possibilities. However, I wasn't sure if this vehicle should cost 1 pool, require the minion to tap, or be usable any time one of your minions is entering combat. Thoughts? ----------- ----------- Call to Arms (needs a better name) Cardtype: Combat Discipline: Animalism Only usable before range is chosen. Equip this vampire with a retainer from your hand that requires Animalism. Pay the cost to equip as normal. (S) Equip this vampire with as many retainers (that require Animalism) as you have in your hand when this card is played. Pay the cost to equip as normal The idea is a Disguised Weapon type of card for all your doggy friends. It's a good idea, I think, but my only worry is that it would make the Gangrel even more awsome in combat than they already are. It's mainly intended to help out Nosferatu and Ravnos combat decks, but you can't really restrict it to that. ----------- ----------- Chauffeured Limousine Card Type: Equipment Cost: 1 pool Vehicle. The minion with this vehicle gets +1 stealth when hunting or attempting political actions. ----------- ----------- Cool Car (picture of a suave guy in a convertible Ferarri talking to a couple of bikini-wearing models) Card Type: Equipment Cost: 1 pool Vehicle. The vampire with this vehicle gets an extra blood from hunting. ----------- ----------- Okay, that's more than enough for now. Like I said, I'd love to hear some comments from the peanut gallery. And if these cards are hideously powerful or cheesy, I'd like to hear that too. Hope you people enjoy reading about this stuff as much as I enjoy coming up with it. Harry
