Q1: How (and when) did you begin your career as a VTES-player? Who introduced you to the game? Where did you play originally?

I began playing in 1994 when the game was introduced as JYHAD and it kind of always will be that game to me. The store manger, yes that's right due to a printer's error on business cards his official title was "manger". Cerebral Hobbies, Chapel Hill, N.C.

Q2: Which of the Sets and Expansions to VTES is your favorite, and why is it your top choice?

Bloodlines, It really flushed out some interesting and unique vampires and abilities. I am especially fond of the Scarce flaw, although I think Slave is a little too crippling when applied to the Gargoyles, especially Ublo-Satha who has to be the most god-awful vampire in the game to be designed and printed by White Wolf. Bloodlines moved the game back to the point where individual vampires became important again rather that a faceless horde of vampires with identical discipline spreads.

Q3: What is your favorite deck to play, and why?

I really don't have a favorite deck to play. I tend to enjoy developing a deck more than winning with a tournament tweaked deck. If I had to say I had a favorite deck then it would be Masika's Mad New Bitch which is listed online at archonoftheswamp.tripod.com.

Q4: If you could add something to the game, what would it be?

Me, just kidding.... I think I would have done all the changes that Scott did for Cam Edition. Okay, that was a wimp out. I guess I would add that every player got to design his own vampire that would be printed in a future expansion by White Wolf. But there would be restrictions, like costing rules and all vamps would have to be like 8+ in capacity or something along those lines.

Q5: What do you do to help promote the game / why are you in this list of people?

Now that I'm a prince, I monitor and promote player activity here in Louisiana. That is pretty minor compared to the fact that I travel almost every week for work so I get to see some pretty interesting playgroups and metagames. I have played with groups in Charlotte, N.C., Raleigh, N.C., Chapel Hill, N.C., Atlanta, Ga., New Orleans, La., Lafayette, La, Houston, Tx., Austin, Tx., two separate groups in Dallas, Tx., Little Rock, Ar., and Stillwater, Ok.. I have also played with all the great players who have attended Dragon Con and Gen Con for the past couple of years. It is really funny to pick up a trick or two in one group and drop it on another group just to see the expression on their faces.

Q6: What is your favorite deck style for casual play / tournament play?

Combat. I love combat. I think Kelly Nine of the Austin playgroup put it best when he said," Norm, everyone knows what you are going to play; just is it going to be big fist or little fist?"

Q7: Is there a difference between your casual play and tournament play?

I try to try out different and often unsuccessful concepts in casual play, and as you can see from my tournament record, I tend to do the same at tournaments. :)
