Q1: How (and when) did you begin your career as a VTES-player? Who introduced you to the game? Where did you play originally?

I began playing in 1994 with Jyhad's release. I played with Rob Treasure, Boring Roj, Unfeasibly-tall Mark and 1000 Garou Thom at the local games club. Rob and I used to play magic beforehand and played 1-on-1 jyhad a lot as he lived next door to me at the time.

Q2: Which of the Sets and Expansions to VTES is your favorite, and why is it your top choice?

Dark Sovereigns. Possibly a contentious choice, but the camarilla vampires from that set are amazing and that set gave us Force of Will and Kindred Coersion- two of my favorite cards.

Q3: What is your favorite deck to play, and why?

I love Madness Network decks, generally, but my favorite deck ever was the 30 Folderol deck. Shame it couldn't really cut it in a tournament.

Q4: If you could add something to the game, what would it be?

Multiple vampire combat. I'd like to see a Sabbat pack take apart an Inner Circle member by force of numbers.

Q5: What do you do to help promote the game / why are you in this list of people?

I spent 14 months working for Wizards of the Coast UK in 1998/9. I used my position to start the UK national tournaments and provide prize support and rules information to the UK V:TES players. I ran demonstrations wherever I could, gave away free cards and was, I think, at least partly resposible for a 300% increase in UK V:TES sales over the 1998-9 year. This was mostly due to the importation of 1134 boxes of Sabbat from the US wharehouse into the UK and saving 1500ish boxes of Ancient Hearts from being pulped by getting them imported into Europe too. I couldn't save all the Dark Sovereigns though.
Since doing that sort of thing for a job I haven't really been too enthusiastic about demonstrating since. I probably should do more. I don't really like the Prince system either having seen some of the abuses that game promoters can get away with for doing the absolute minimum.
I had an idea to set up a web log of useful V:TES posts from around the net to filter out the chaff. Maybe when i've handed in my thesis i'll get around to it.

Q6: What is your favorite deck style for casual play / tournament play?

I play all sorts of stuff, except combat decks which I don't really like. Strong clans with unusual cards probably sums up my play.

Q7: Is there a difference between your casual play and tournament play?

Not really. I experiment more in casual play, if the experiment works i'll play it at a tournament.
