Q1: How (and when) did you begin your career as a VTES-player? Who introduced you to the game? Where did you play originally? I was quite heavily into Magic: The Gathering and Vampire: The Masquerade when Jyhad came out in 1994. Seemed like a natural progression for me to make. Didn't start in the tourney scene until Jan/Feb 2001, where I got my eyes opened to a bigger world... |
Q2: Which of the Sets and Expansions to VTES is your favorite, and why is it your top choice? Really liked Sabbat War. I think the combination of not having an expansion for years, and some great cards, makes it my top choice. That said, Final Nights is bloody great too, made the Setites what they are today... :) |
Q3: What is your favorite deck to play, and why? My Setite/Mind Rape deck was great, think I posted it somewhere a while back (though I can't be sure). Also, my Coughs & Sneezes Spread Diseases Assamite/Vampiric Disease/ Foul Blood deck was a barrel of laughs to play with too. This is on Todd Banisters site. |
Q4: If you could add something to the game, what would it be? I'd rather take things away. Pointless errata (Taste of Vitae springs to mind), shoddy artwork, new clan backgrounds and the grouping ruling off the top of my head. |
Q5: What do you do to help promote the game / why are you in this list of people? That's an interesting question... I am a regular tourney go-er, some of my decks are on archives and I occasionally input comments on the NG, but other than that, not very much :) I figured my e-mail address got into your address book by mistake! :) |
Q6: What is your favorite deck style for casual play / tournament play? Anything 'fun' for casual play. I do not consider a weenie computer hacking deck 'fun', nor a bog standard Lasombra or Malk S+B deck 'fun'. Anything with good ideas, good card combos and that makes me think. As for tournaments... Will generally go for something with less holes in. I'll always ask myself 'can it cope with S+B or weenies or whatever', in casual play I'll just try out kooky ideas I've had. |
Q7: Is there a difference between your casual play and tournament play? Almost certainly. Seems a little pointless cutting deals etc. in casual play. With casual games, the enjoyment is paramount. Most people don't feel the same way with tournaments. A shame really, but you've gotta cater for those players that will do ANYTHING for the win. |
