Q1: How (and when) did you begin your career as a VTES-player? Who introduced you to the game? Where did you play originally? I actually started playing Magic in 1994, and when I heard there was going to be a Vampire CCG I bought into it instantly with my brother. I started and continue to play in Austin, Texas although I've been a part of at least 3 different playgroups just within the city. |
Q2: Which of the Sets and Expansions to VTES is your favorite, and why is it your top choice? Bloodlines is my favorite because it catered perfectly to my view of deck building - versatility. Including useful outferior effects in addition to usually powerful discipline effects allows for a breadth of card opportunity uses. I've toolboxed far more in the past couple of years as well. Also all the new clans and disciplines kept things a bit fresh, since the previous two expansions just enhanced existing clans/disciplines. |
Q3: What is your favorite deck to play, and why? To this day I'm still enamoured with my PAAD concept, since it uses my favorite versatile discipline of Presence, while allowing you to use any new cards/tricks that come along while still remaining somewhat competitive.http://texas.vekn.org/sections.php?op=viewarticle&artid=71 |
Q4: If you could add something to the game, what would it be? Another robust and balanced way to oust your prey (Enticement and Choir are good examples of what I'm referring to). |
Q5: What do you do to help promote the game / why are you in this list of people? Listed in chronological order :- Joined at inception and became Prince of Austin. - Held Crusade Austin, during the VEKN Crusades. - http://monger.vekn.org/ - Started as Crypt Monger in the mid 90's (this is probably my biggest claim to fame) - Toreador-Antitribu Newsletter Editor - http://texas.vekn.org/sections.php?op=listarticles&secid=2 - http://texas.vekn.org/ - Started as VEKN Austin and has since evolved to include all of Texas. - I received the 'infamous die of doom' at the first V:EKN National Championship - http://texas.vekn.org/article.php?sid=67 |
Q6: What is your favorite deck style for casual play / tournament play? Slowly becoming Presence Vote/Bleed, with a second discipline to add the stealth and/or payload. |
Q7: Is there a difference between your casual play and tournament play? Absolutely. In casual play, I'm less concerned about VP's and more concerned on whether my deck is working. Usually I also play less traditional decks in casual play. |
