Q1: How (and when) did you begin your career as a VTES-player? Who introduced you to the game? Where did you play originally? 1995. Friends who I played M:tG with on trips back home (I was in the Navy at the time) introduced me to it. |
Q2: Which of the Sets and Expansions to VTES is your favorite, and why is it your top choice? Final Nights. I've liked the independents since they were first introduced in Dark Sovereigns, and FN went a long way towards putting them on equal footing with Sabatt and Cam decks. The rare vampires were a horrible, horrible mistake, though, IMO. |

Q3: What is your favorite deck to play, and why? Currently Ravnos bleed. It tends to sit below the threat radar, but can spring up and bleed for a ton when the time is right. The deck is also fairly robust; Draba and Raven Spy provide passable blocking ability for few cards. Illusions of the Kindred foils every combat that I know of. Light stealth and Red Herring wears down most intercept. And it has a new anti-deflection method that's still under wraps. No link, and it's yet to win a tourney with enough attendees to make the TWDA, but I'll include it in-line and you can keep it here if you like:Deck Name: Ravnos Short-Leash Bleed Created By: David Cherryholmes Description: Crypt: (12 cards, Min: 10, Max: 32, Avg: 5.33) ---------------------------------------------- 1 Spleen ani chi 2, Ravnos 1 Sasha Miklos chi 2, Ravnos 1 Vedel Esbreno chi for 3, Ravnos 1 Tsigane aus chi 3, Ravnos 1 Salbatore Bokkengro CHI for pro 4, Ravnos 1 Khalil Ravana ani CHI for pre 5, Ravnos 1 Natalia ANI chi dom for 7, Ravnos 4 Gabrin ANI CHI dom for 8, Ravnos 1 Joaquina Amaya ANI CHI FOR 6, Ravnos Library: (80 cards) ------------------- Master (16 cards) 3 Blood Doll 1 Chimerstry 1 Coven, The 1 Dominate 1 Dreams of the Sphinx 1 Elder Library 1 Giant's Blood 1 Legendary Vampire 1 Park Hunting Ground 2 Path of Paradox, The 1 Secure Haven 1 Visit from the Capuchin 1 Week of Nightmares Action (16 cards) 4 Computer Hacking 1 Govern the Unaligned 1 Mind Rape 1 Restoration 1 Scouting Mission 3 Sensory Deprivation 2 Sensory Overload 2 Sleight of Hand 1 Spirit Marionette Action Modifier (23 cards) 8 Fata Morgana 6 Freak Drive 9 Red Herring Reaction (4 cards) 2 Deflection 2 Forced Awakening Combat (4 cards) 4 Illusions of the Kindred Retainer (1 cards) 1 Raven Spy Equipment (3 cards) 1 Ivory Bow 2 Treasured Samadji Combo (13 cards) 5 Draba 8 Mirror Image |
Q4: If you could add something to the game, what would it be? A Perl/Tk port of ELDB, rendering it platform-independent.Q5: What do you do to help promote the game / why are you in this list of people? I am the Prince of Durham, NC. I regularly harrangue and roust out enough of the twenty-odd players in Durham to satisfy my jones. I promote the game through tournaments and demos at the FLGS. I am ostensibly the Assamite newsletter writer, but I have not been very prolific with that. I spend way too much time on Usenet and I would say that, more than anything, may have gotten my on this list.Q6: What is your favorite deck style for casual play / tournament play? Certainly toolboxy, on both counts. I like combat, and include at least light intercept in nearly every deck I build.Q7: Is there a difference between your casual play and tournament play? In casual play I've usually got a good buzz on, whereas in tournament play I'm usually just sleep deprived. |
