Q1: How (and when) did you begin your career as a VTES-player? Who introduced you to the game? Where did you play originally? A friend of mine taught me to play Jyhad at a GenCon in Barcelona (1994). However, since I was studying in Barcelona at that time, and I did not know any Jyhad player there, so I could only play Jyhad on holidays, when I was back in Palma de Mallorca. For several years I tried to find V:TES players in Barcelona, but I could not. In time, I met people to play with sporadically, until I finally found a real playgroup in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona), where I have been playing V:TES until 2000, when I returned to Palma de Mallorca (where I currently play two days a week). |
Q2: Which of the Sets and Expansions to VTES is your favorite, and why is it your top choice? Bloodlines, because it gave birth to new strategic support (still to be explored). And, above all, because Bloodlines released the most powerful clan in existence: the Baali clan >:-) |

Q3: What is your favorite deck to play, and why? I have many favorite decks, not just one. But the deck I most like at the moment is: "Sargon summons Hell".Deck Name: Sargon summons Hell Created By: Damnans Description: Bring out Sargon and other weenies with Obfuscate. Wait until you have played a couple of Blood Dolls to put a Herald of Topheth into play. Drain your vampires with Blood Dolls and have them hunt, so that you can have enough pool to maintain your Heralds. Use these allies to rush the minions of your choice, and bleed freely afterwards. Deck Name: Lucita and her friends Created By: Damnans Description: Lucita enters play (2nd or 3rd turn) Lucita equips with the Soul Gem of Etrius, Freak Drive< Lucita recruits Camarilla Vitae Slave (to increase her capacity by one), Freak Drive< Lucita performs The Embrace< Lucita performs Force of Will, Daring the Dawn<, Conditioning> (FoW at superior or at inferior, depending on how much blood she currently has) Lucita must burn herself during this action, so that another one comes into play via Soul Gem. Then repeat the steps above over and over again. This deck becomes a weenie deck as the combo goes on, since each combo means 1 more The Embrace in play. Embraces are very useful not just for dealing a final blow by bleeding, but for rescuing Lucita from torpor (if necessary) or diablerizing her so that another Lucita comes into play via Soul Gem. Lucita is also a perfect vampire for a turbo deck, since she has superior Obtenebration, and can play Shadow Body at superior to continue essential actions such as: Camarilla Vitae Slave, Soul Gem, The Embrace... In addition she has basic Celerity, which allows her to play Distraction at inferior to avoid hand jam. Crypt: (18 cards, Min: 32, Max: 32, Avg: 8,00) 18 Lucita cel DOM FOR OBT pot 8, Lasombra Library: (90 cards) Master (4 cards) 4 Vast Wealth Action (25 cards) 4 Distraction 10 Embrace, The 11 Force of Will Action Modifier (39 cards) 10 Conditioning 10 Daring the Dawn 15 Freak Drive 4 Shadow Play Combat (4 cards) 4 Shadow Body Equipment (7 cards) 7 Soul Gem of Etrius Retainer (11 cards) 11 Camarilla Vitae Slave |
Q4: If you could add something to the game, what would it be? - Allies as crypt cards. - Dark Thaumaturgy as a new discipline. - More infernal minions >:-) Q5: What do you do to help promote the game / why are you in this list of people? I have helped keep V:TES alive in Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca during the period between Sabbat and May of 2000, by organizing tournaments and setting up a fix place in Barcelona where people could trade V:TES cards. When I finally came back to Palma, I kept on organizing V:TES tournaments, including the Camarilla Conclave 2001 and 2002. I have also helped organize the two Spanish Qualifiers for the European Championship (2001, 2002).
On the 10th of July of 2000 (once I was back in Palma), I published my
web site:
I have also translated the following V:TES resources into Spanish:
Other translations in progress:
In addition, I have created a V:TES English-Spanish dictionary of V:TES Terms
On the 23rd of February of 2001, I created the "V:TES Hispania" Yahoo Group,
a Spanish forum dedicated to V:TES, which currently has 230+ members.
On the 9th of September of 2001 I published the first version of the "real time"
Transcription System for V:TES Games I developed:
Q6: What is your favorite deck style for casual play / tournament play? CASUAL PLAY Experimental decks such as all kind of Baali decks >:-). And, when I do not play with Baali decks, then I prefer to play with political or funny theme decks. TOURNAMENT PLAY I specially like political decks for tournament play, since they are versatile, give you access to many resources, and allow you to take cross-table actions (if necessary).Q7: Is there a difference between your casual play and tournament play? Yes, because while my casual play depends much on our metagame (which is usually combat-oriented), my tournament play depends on the strategies I think that are the best to win (which are not usually combat-oriented). |
