Q1: How (and when) did you begin your career as a VTES-player? Who introduced you to the game? Where did you play originally? Bought a Jyhad starter but that didn't grab me. Tried the game again in 99, looking for Buffy-related gaming. Revived the game briefly with some lapsed players at the Finchley Games Club in London. |
Q2: Which of the Sets and Expansions to VTES is your favorite, and why is it your top choice? The VTES base set because it looks good. The design improves on Jyhad and the art is better than anything that has followed. |
Q3: What is your favorite deck to play, and why? I won a Meddling storyline tournament with an antitribu Malkavian deck. It was posted to the newsgroup as "Don't Get Mad, Get Even". |
Q4: If you could add something to the game, what would it be? More Hunters. I'd still like to be able to play a good Buffy deck. |
Q5: What do you do to help promote the game / why are you in this list of people? Perhaps because of some iconoclastic articles in the jyhad newsgroup. Some of these seem to have been influential - the table-wins scoring change; the unbanning of Rowan Ring and Monocle of Clarity; the move from ELO to the current rating system; the revised NRA rule. Madness of the Bard has yet to be redeemed though and Kevin Mergen teases me by collecting bundles of the card for me each year at Origins. |
Q6: What is your favorite deck style for casual play / tournament play? Tricksy with a theme. |
Q7: Is there a difference between your casual play and tournament play? My tournament play is more competitive. |
