Damnans' Demo Process

What are you doing to demo the game to potential new players?

I have many preconstructed decks from several expansions for that purpose.

So these are the steps I have been recently following to demo the game
to potential new players:

1. Meeting them at an adequate location to play. There will also be some
experienced players in attendance. Not just the one conducting the demo
game.

2. Showing them the preconstructed decks available and giving them a
short description of each clan present (mainly in the RPG, with a few
indications about what it can do in VTES).

3. Then each player chooses his or her preconstructed deck to play the
demo game, based on his or her preferences and/or affinity with a given
clan.

4. Before the game starts, each player is given a description of card
types, symbols, basic actions, turn phases, etc. They also receive a
translated VTES playmat as a reference during the game which is about to
start. Until they play a game they won't be able to understand these
basics, so we move to step 5 as quickly as possible.

5. Playing a demo game. Each experienced player in attendance will
choose another preconstructed deck to play as well, to complete a 4 or 5
player table. The person doing the demo will not play, because his or
her task will be to guide the potential new players through their turns,
and to give them some advice (without overwhelming them with too much
information).

6. During that game, the experienced players will give the potential new
players some chances to oust them or to weaken them.

7. After the demo game is over, I ask the potential new players how they
liked the game, and if they would like to play more VTES games in the
future. If their answer is "yes", then I tell them to keep the
preconstructed decks they chose, as a gift (if they are students and
have no money), or give them the chance to purchase them plus any other
preconstructed decks they like to complete their decks.

8. If their interest for the game makes them want to play more VTES
games some other day, then I give those new players a "Player's Kit" for
free.
