Krassimir and Ventrue by R. David Zopf
Concept: Krassimir supports a group of small to mid capacity Ventrue, using an excess of bleed actions, and untap, along with light tapping capabilities (Misdirection, Anarch Troublemaker, Mind Numb). As it stands, this deck may burn through its blood too fast, but the basic concepts are there. This deck is merely a concept. I haven't run it, yet.

To All,
Been giving it much thought, and after one game with a
single Slaughterhouse and Agaitas, along with three timely
Scrying of Secrets, I've come to the conclusion that the
best use for library burn resources is for the _selective_
denial of resources available to your prey, not wholesale
library burn. It seems to me to be far better to
cripple one aspect of his game than to totally burn his
deck (prevents table collapse, etc.). If you can pick and
choose what to burn, then you can get rid of only those
things that hurt you as their predator (intercept, blood
gain, rush actions, whatever).
To that end, I hastily assembled the following (Happy
Families style) deck. Its designed to bleed for about
three per action (AI's abound in my local play group), and
to give good information about the library of your prey. I
guess the tough part comes in deciding what to get rid of.
I'm sure that will be a judgement call for each game, but
in general, I'd think about denying people bloat, and
probably intercept. This is a great negotiating tool.
Consider that you can haggle with a prey, say by denying
him access to Bum's Rush unless he agrees to use them on
his prey, only. *evil grin* Not easy, but potentially
ruinous. Anyway, here's the deck. Feel free to give me
feedback, keeping in mind what I want to accomplish...

Greetings, All...
Subsequent to the dispute about the viability of Assamites in their
current state, I thought I might post my most successful deck with them to
date. While this in no way represents the clan as the silent killers that
they should be, it does do well in a variety of situations, mostly due to
it's flexibility. The equipment is of questionable value, I admit, but
often an Embraced vampire with a .44 is just considered not worth the effort
to dispatch with in the hierarchy of events within a game... Mostly, this
deck suceeds by changing tactics often and unpredictably... well on with
the decklist, in Glorious ELDB Format

In case you hadn't caught on, the idea is to bring up mid-range Assamites
from the crypt, use them to Embrace, then take Heartblood of the Clan
actions ad nauseam to efficiently get up Assamite Elders for free. These,
along with a horde of raving weenie Embraced vampires make a formidable
force... Tactic changes can include weenie overrun bleed, bloat (by
transfers off the Elders, and Blood Doll/hunting), and light
combat/intercept. I know that you'll likely think that this deck doesn't do
any one thing well, but the fact is it has a great number of actions per
turn available to it, and that compensates well for the difficulty in
playing the Assamites... Comments are welcome.
Oh, in case you didn't understand the deck title, I've always found the
title "Heartblood of the Clan" to have a distictly Scottish sound to it. In
fact, the title has gone so far as to be the basis for an abbreviation of
the following phrase in my group(s)
"weenie Embraced #5 will attempt a Hearblood of the Clan action to put a
counter on Heartblood of the Clan" is abbreviated to "Aach!!". Pronounced
as a glottal sound made at the back of the throat, it sounds akin to choking
on a large piece of under-ripe fruit ;-)

I've been asked on several occasions to get it together and post
this deck. I wanted to take some time to explain how the theme develops,
so I do apologize for the delay. This deck has been slightly modified

understanding of it's theme. Some additions are simply to make the deck
a bit more viable in regular play. As always, any feedback to enhance
theme or playability is heavily encouraged. Thanks for reading.

Greetings, All.
I cooked up an idea for a Sabbat weenie hunting/blood gain deck on
a separate thread, and wanted to post it, in case anyone was interested.
The theme is like the U.S. Cub Scouts, but with little vampires (I can
elaborate for internationals who are unfamiliar with the institution,
ask if needed) I don't have the proper number of Hungry Coyotes in my
collection, so I'm proxy-ing until I decide if its worth trading for
a tournament play. Feedback is always appreciated.

I was sitting in a cold, dark place when this variant potence
Rush deck idea came to me. It will suffer, as all potence decks do,

Anyway, here it is, in glorious ELDB format

I'd appreciate some feedback on this deck idea for making War Ghouls out of
Arms Dealers. Weenie Embraced vampires make for more recruit ally actions,
plus fodder for bleeding the prey en masse after the War Ghouls have
softened him up. There's a couple of Giovanni ally tricks in here, as well.
You'll probably be familiar with them (Ambrosius + Talbot's Chainsaw,
Ambrosius recycling Zombies, & good ol' Compel the Spirit...) I'm not
trying to make a tourney deck (obviously), but I would like to explore how
good an ally deck can _really_be made... (I've exhausted variations on my
Talaq the Window Opener Deck, aka 21 Burst Salute which makes people fear me,
but doesn't get so many victory points.)
I've left space for additions (8 cards), but would, of course,
consider exchanges. I'm not too pleased with the additional stealth angle
for getting ally actions to succeed, but I don't want my vamps in combat
early. A pool gain system for this deck could help offset the
expense of the allies... Any thoughts?

This goofy little deck was inspired by a ridiculous billboard on one
of the highway's down here in good 'ol "Springer-ville, USA". It has
the above quote on it, along with a whole bunch of curious white
tadpoles running about. Sometimes I just don't believe what
mine own eyes see. They have a website, too, if your curious;
www.identigene.com
But, I digress. On to the deck this inspired. This goofy little
number is for you sensible NCL players, as there's no way to readily
generate the desired effects (that being a peculiar humor element, and
a particularly nervous prey) under a CL. The goal is to bring up a
Setite, then start Revelation of the Sire, to change Caitiff into
Setites (those corrupt Setites, alway putting their vitae where it
doesn't belong...) Notice that a Revealed Caitiff (now Setite) can in
turn Reveal another Caitiff (creating what we might consider the
equivalent of a family therapy session on a daytime talk show), or
Corrupt a vamp, or Computer Hack. Just play the deck as the cards
flow. It's heavy on action cards, so it does get bogged down in a
combat environment (these guys fall over like twigs), but hey, Setites
are lovers, not fighters... Right? ;-)

Many people have it out for Allies. For the most part, they just
aren't as good as a vamp, pool for pool. Here's what I came up with

can see, the allies make frequent and generous use of the daylight to
assist them. Nephandus finishes the job quite well, and Ambrosius
with Talbot's Chainsaw should be in every ally deck;-) The vamps are
really just in ther until they can recruit an ally, then they hunt
away like good little minions, to be blood dolled off to pay for the
elevated cost of mortal allies. Rudolpho , the Necro Skill cards and
Compel the Spirits do a lot to defray the expense, as well... Just
another not so serious, but oh so fun deck from your faithful AtomWeaver...

This untuned deck succeeded in making it all the way to the finals,
and had a crack at winning Dragon* Con. I'm just as surprised as you
are, believe me. I threw it together before driving down to Atlanta,
and played it for the first time once before entering the tourney. My
changes (already made) are noted at the bottom.
Several thoughts to keep in mind;
1. Revised Second Trad. Domain now rocks, as do other Princely
advantages, esp. in light of the revisions to Wake. I knew a bit of
the meta-game going in to the tourney (read: Ben Peal's weenie horde
deck) and thought that a healthy amount of untap and blood gain wouldbe needed.
2. Carthage Remembered was also staggering in it's effectiveness,
considering it's disposability. Most of the time, I played it
expecting to have the use of it for a single round (to try to sneak
some bleeds in unexpectedly). Often, it went unattended, as others
felt it not worth the action to dispose of it...
3. I felt that some amount of retainer/location theft might be useful
(due to revised Golden Rule of Ownership), but found myself disposing
of the cards to do so more often than not. I think that this is more
a consequence of not having _serious_ stealth to pull it off, though,
than it is a devaluation of the tactic...

Revisions:
1. Art Museum (1) is out. A previous version of the crypt had more
Toreador and less Brujah. The crypt was revised, but I didn't remove
the card. Oops. Replaced with Carthage Remembered (1)
2. Far Mastery (2) and Kine Dominance (2), both out. Again, you need
stealth to make this effective in tournament play. Replaced with Aire
of Elation (4).
3. Bang Nakh (1) is out. Too pricey as compared to other equipment.
Replaced with Carthage Remembered (1).
4. Information Highway (1) is out. With the high number of Governs
and Scouting Missions, it was unneccesary for getting minions out
quickly. Haven't decided what to replace it with yet...
The balance of the equipment/combat is for surprise and feint value
(just gave that away, didn't I? ;-), moreso than anything else, and
kept many an unsuspecting prey running for cover and sucking down 0
stealth bleeds for several turns. I think most people were expecting
this deck to be a combat deck, based on the vampires they saw. In a
light combat/heavy vote tournament, it held it's own on both sides.
Vote control was relatively easy to obtain, with a good number of "add
pool to uncontrolled minions" cards. I held back the Bewitching
Orations to use with Praxi, and the rest of the votes took care of themselves.
That was surprising, especially considering I included titles for the
main objective of being able to use the Traditions cards.
Had I known more of the meta-game, I might have done without the
Closed Sessions, but the odd Priscus still makes me want to keep themin...
Any revisions/ observations are welcome...

The "Bitter Nosferatu" Deck
I don't post deck lists too terribly often, as I find most people
dislike working their way through the twisted recesses of my brain,
which spawn such ridiculousness. Two goofy ideas I've been batting
about melded together into this "pissed off" Nosferatu deck.
Idea #1: Grand Melee
The most difficult thing about getting combat deck to work for me has
always been getting the right combo of Rush cards to combat cards.
With the advent of the Sabbat, I thought it might be time to take a
look at two older cards:
Imperial Decree 1 blood Justicar or IC member
+1 stealth
Put this card into play. As a D action, any Camarilla vamp may enter
combat with any Non-Camarilla vamp. Any vamp may burn this card as a
D action (Non-Cam get -1 stalth on this action)
Covenant of Blood 1 blood
Non-Camarilla over 7 cap.
Put this card into play. As a D action, any Non-Camarilla vamp may
enter combat with any Camarilla vamp. Any vamp may burn this card as
a D action (Camarilla get -1 stalth on this action)
You see where this is going, I'll bet. Once a copy is in play,
getting into combat is a simple thing. Yes, they're fragile, but they
can work quite nicely for a few turns each.
Idea #2: A use for duplicate vamps in the crypt.
Often, I find my self with ideas revolving around a few vampire,
(like this deck) with little to do with the duplicates if they come up...
So I thought that this little blood gain trick might make use of them.
There are certainly better/faster ways, but this is quite amusing to
see, the first time it happens
Might of the Camarilla --> Redeem the Lost Soul
With those cards in mind, here is the deck...
Crypt:
Nosferatu
3 x Sheldon, Lord of the Clog 9, Justicar, ANI, OBF, POT, AUS, for
4x Harrod 11, IC, +2 bleed, ANI, OBF, POT, CEL, aus, pre
Nosferatu Anti-tribu
3x Cailean 10, Archbishop of Detroit, can establish range each round,
ANI, OBF, POT, PRE, dom
2x Young-Sun, Harmonist 10, Cardinal, can burn vamps from top of
prey's crypt as a D action, ANI, OBF, POT, THA, aus

1x Fragment of the Book of Nod
1x Giant's Blood
1x Golconda: Inner Peace
2x Information Highway

5x Redeem the Lost Soul

6x Undead Strength
Strengths: When the Grand Melee Actions get up and going, hey, there's
some right hideous mayhem that happens. Particularly, Cailean against
Camrilla (he's really got it out for them). Politics tends not tot be
a problem, either, with so many strong titles. Combat is great fun,
and the deck moves fairly well, despite the high number of non-combat
cards... The blood gain catches everyone by surprise, and I even
caught my prey with four transfers on a vamp twice, & burned it with a
MotCam! A nifty improvised "bleed" effect. Other combat decks tend
to kiss your feet, toss rose petals in your wake, and try to avoid the
removal of the Grand Melee cards until they become a problem for them.
Weaknesses: Those Grand Melee cards are inherintly frail. It does
take big vamps to make it go, and heavy maneuvering opponents can hurt
me (without Cailean). Also, blocking the Grand Melee actions causes
me grief. A later incarnation will likely inclue Swallowed by the
Night to alleviate both maneuver problems, and some light stealth for
the actions. Other revisions might include fortitiude or Concoctions
of Vitality in them.
In all, its great fun to play some alternative (non-Rush based)
combat that has some really odd cards to support it. It's hardly
tournament worthy, but its a bunch of fun to play, if only to see the
quizzical looks on your prey's face ;-)
